Pressure Transducers
A pressure transducer is a device used to measure the pressure of liquids or gases in various applications. It’s a device to measure pressure in housing with no amplified signal and sometimes no electrical connection. The output of these transducers is mV/V which can be transmitted to third party system or can be amplified using a suitable amplifier for long distance communication.
Cebeco offers a range of pressure transducers that are suitable for a wide range of industries and applications. These transducers are designed to be accurate and reliable, and they can withstand harsh environments.
One of the most significant advantages of using pressure transducers is their accuracy and precision. They can measure pressure with high precision, ensuring reliable and consistent readings. Additionally, they can measure pressure in different units, including pounds per square inch (psi), bars, and kilopascals (kPa).
Another key advantage of using pressure transducers is their versatility. They can measure pressure in both liquid and gas applications, making them suitable for a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and chemical processing. In addition, they can be used in a variety of applications, such as measuring fluid levels, monitoring hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and measuring gas flow rates.
Pressure transducers are also highly durable and can withstand harsh environments. They are designed to operate under extreme conditions, such as high temperatures, high pressures, and corrosive environments. This durability makes them ideal for use in industrial automation, where they can be exposed to harsh chemicals and high temperatures.
Cebeco's pressure transducers use piezoresistive/Resistive thin film on steel & Resistive thick film on ceramic technology, which is a sensing technique that converts pressure into an electrical signal. These transducers are available in different ranges and accuracy levels, and they can be used to measure both static and dynamic pressures. They are commonly used in industrial automation, aerospace, automotive, and medical applications.
Resistive thin film on steel technology uses thin film resistor films sputtered onto a metal membrane.
Resistive thick film on ceramic uses thick resistor films onto a ceramic membrane.
Piezoresistive (Silicon) uses resistors diffused, implanted into a silicon crystal (etched membrane).
Pressure Transmitters
Pressure transmitters are devices used to transmit pressure measurements from a sensor to a control system. It amplifies the signal generated by the inbuilt pressure transducer to transmit to process control systems. Various outputs such as analog, digital, switch etc are possible in pressure transmitter version of sensor.
Cebeco offers a range of pressure transmitters that are designed to provide accurate and reliable measurements in various industries and applications. These transmitters are designed to withstand harsh environments and provide continuous monitoring of pressure.
Piezoresistive pressure transmitters use a silicon-based sensing element that changes resistance as pressure is applied to it. These transmitters are known for their high accuracy and stability, making them ideal for critical applications such as aerospace and defence. Capacitive pressure transmitters use a capacitor to measure changes in pressure.
These transmitters are known for their high sensitivity and low power consumption, making them ideal for battery-powered applications such as remote sensing and wireless communication. Strain gauge pressure transmitters use a metal foil or wire that changes its resistance as it is subjected to stress. These transmitters are known for their high durability and robustness, making them ideal for industrial applications such as manufacturing and construction.
Cebeco’s pressure transmitters use various sensing technologies, including piezoresistive, capacitive, and strain gauge. They are available in different pressure ranges, accuracy levels, and output signals. They are commonly used in process control, oil and gas, water and wastewater, and HVAC applications.
Cebeco’s pressure transmitters are designed to meet international standards such as ATEX, IECEx, and SIL2/3. They are available in various materials such as stainless steel, duplex steel, titanium, and plastic, making them suitable for different media and operating conditions. They are also available with different electrical connections and process connections, making them easy to install and integrate with existing systems. They are also available with Marine, Railways approvals suitable for each specific market.
In addition to measuring pressure, some Cebeco pressure transmitters can also measure temperature and provide additional features such as digital communication and self-diagnostic functions & datalogger facilities. These features allow for easier integration with control systems and provide valuable feedback on the transmitter's performance and health and enable operators to monitor pressure cycles using logging functions.
Pressure Sensors
A pressure sensor is a device used to measure pressure and convert it into an electrical signal. Cebeco offers a range of pressure sensors that are designed to provide accurate and reliable measurements in various industries and applications. These sensors are designed to withstand harsh environments and provide continuous monitoring of pressure.
Piezoresistive pressure sensors use the principle of changes in resistance when pressure is applied to a semiconductor material. As the pressure changes, the resistance changes proportionally, generating an electrical signal. These sensors are widely used in automotive applications for measuring tire pressure, oil pressure, and fuel pressure.
Capacitive pressure sensors use changes in capacitance to measure pressure. They consist of two conductive plates separated by a diaphragm. When pressure is applied to the diaphragm, the distance between the plates changes, causing a change in capacitance. Capacitive sensors are commonly used in HVAC systems, industrial automation, and medical equipment.
Strain gauge pressure sensors use a thin metal film or thick film ceramic that changes resistance when strain is applied. The strain is generated by pressure, and the resulting change in resistance is proportional to the pressure applied. These sensors are used in industrial and aerospace applications for measuring pressure in fluid systems, tanks, and pipelines.
Cebeco's pressure sensors are available in different form factors, including threaded, flush diaphragm, and differential pressure sensors. Threaded sensors are typically used in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, whereas flush diaphragm sensors are ideal for measuring pressure in viscous fluids and in applications where there is a risk of clogging. Differential pressure sensors are used to measure the pressure difference between two points.
